Day 5

Saturday... Portobello Market Day. Breakfast on the way to give me sustenance.

Notting Hill. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't find Hugh Grant. :)

The Portobello Road Market.

The first half mile or so is just antiques. I thought that all of those things hanging from the strings were just tongs for reallllly small ice cubes. But as it turns out, they're for sugar cubes! Would have been perfect for Absinthe. Rats.

More "antiques"

Also very cool ethnic goods- Moroccan, Scottish, Indian, etc... It's a good thing I don't have any room in my suitcase.

There are several blocks just for vintage clothing!

I did have room for this, though-- in the food section, guys making huge pans of seafood paella. It smelled aMAzing!

I stood on the sidewalk with a bunch of people and just ate it right there. Mmmmmm :)

Day 4

After work, going to check out my new apartment. The new neighborhood, South Kensington. Fortunately for me, the Maserati and Ferrari dealerships are only a block away.

The apartment, over the lovely Chelsea Cleaners.

The bedroom (before I moved my stuff in)

A real kitchen!

Mini of the Day... Smartcars. I love how they take up only one space, with room to spare. After a few days, I noticed that these 2 cars are actually always parked in front of this house. Let's see, $12 million townhouse, hyper-fuel-efficient cars. Only in London...

Day 3

Barak with his Superhero award.

More pubs.

"Thirsty Thursday"- monthly night out with the office peeps.

Me with my friends Seena and Kalpa, who moved here.

Another pub... Why is it that most of my photos are at night, you ask? Because, as I've learned, it's night in London 80% of the time.

Day 2

First day at work-- waiting for the Tube which, if it can be believed, is much smaller and more uncomfortable than the subway.

Soho, the area where the office is.

The office.

Very fancy.

Reception. Notice the miniscule Microsoft sign on the counter near the flower pot.

My co-worker, Barak.

Dinner at Itsu, with sushi that comes around on a giant conveyor belt.

Oxford Circus with Christmas decorations.

Oxford Circus tube entrance.

Day 1

Woooohooo, I made it! Some photos of the neighborhood around my hotel.

"The Spire"-- a Christopher Wren church across the street from my hotel, which was partly demolished and turned into an apartment building (!)

The lovely Hotel Commodore.

My own patio off my hotel room. Yesssss!
"The Mitre," the pub on the corner where I ate my first night.

Phone booth and bus.
